Arsene, your words are hollow….

Well, the deed is done. City has knocked us out of third place. Carlos Tevez has scored a cracker of a goal, and by all means that goal probably deserves to get a team up the table. This time its cost us. I have to say that City is a team which have been built quite opposite the way from which we have been built, and yet they shall qualify for the champions league leaving us to go through another fucking match next season…

I cannot say that we did into have it coming. We have had it coming from the day 1 when N’gog flashed one past Almunia. Our manager has failed to live up to his word. He said that the main reason for our title failure last season is that we conceded 41 goals, and that is too much for a championship side, well here we are having conceded 41 goals and this is from 37 games.

I read this on Le Grove a few days ago :

Remember, our manager is holding onto his job purely based on past glories. In fact, he’s only being indulged in a project everyone can see is failing because the club and the fans feel they owe him an enormous debt.

At retrospection now I realise how right the author was. Wenger is a man who has kept his place in this club only because of his past glories. Just think about one thing. Would any other man who managed Arsenal FC instead of AW be allowed to keep his post. Some managers have been sacked because of their failure to complete their objectives. For a team like Arsenal, at present its has become such a ‘disgusting’ situation that our objective is to qualify for the champions league only. Well done Arsene, Mission fucking complete.

Embarrassed to call myself an Arsenal fan, No. But embarrassed to see my club in such a position, Yes. I have no clue what the manager plans for this summer, but if he plans to follow his usual crappy summer policy then we can surely expect no champions league football in 12-13 season.

Even after the Carling Cup final I had hope that this team would have the mental strength to cope up and win something this season. Well, why shouldn’t you when your own manager says that Arsenal can do the quadruple ?

Huh, the quadruple…

I have a friend who changed from supporting Arsenal to supporting Manchester United. I know it’s a “something which is really low” to do, but now he is happy. Please don’t get me wrong, I would never do that, I rather be shot to be honest. That bloke is happy today, and I am not.

I have never been so disappointed in Arsenal FC in my life. We could have won the title, and we could have ended this issue once and for all. I would not be writing this post at 2:11 am in the morning and you would not be reading it. 4-4 and 0-1 against the Toon. 2-3 and 2-2 against West Brom. 2-3 and 3-3 against “the team who think they know how to play football.” It’s an absolute fucking disgrace. To us fans, to the club and to what this club stands for…It is a total of 18 points thrown away. Something which we were should have got we have got partially(3 out of 18). And even if you want to be critical by eliminating 1 match against Spuds (@ that hell hole) from the equation it would have been 16 points. 16 fucking points with 1 game left for us to draw, and the title comes to North London.

Every year we have heard that Arsenal is a team which is growing. A team which is developing and becoming more mature. Sadly after this season, I realise that these are just hollow words by the manager. He has never looked into the squad intently, and he has never tried to figure out what has gone wrong. Because logically, if he had, then I am quite sure a man of his knowledge would have identified what is the problem, and how to deal with it. His words are just empty and I have no idea what to believe any more. He has acted on assumptions, and has not tried ‘To catch the bull by its horns.’ Assuming that the team has grown and matured when quite clearly it hasn’t. Improvement is obvious, because when you play at the top level, be it Arsenal or even Wigan, if players don’t improve they don’t play, and if you don’t play can you call yourself a footballer ?

There is so much competition at the top level that if players don’t keep up and improve their game, their career’s may be over before they know it. Improvement and maturity are two different things. Maturity is a part of improvement. But for our manager maturity = improvement, so you will hear him say “ The team has matured, and whatever crap he goes on with…”

Every season is crucial for Arsenal FC. Why ? Well because every season we expect alot from this side. We have heard that the side is young, and we accepted it. We have heard that the side was immature and we accepted it. But for how long will this continue? How long? From 2007 to 2011, a fucking world cup has gone by and still the side is immature and under developed.

This season the pressure on the manager will mount by atleast 5 fold ! Fans are angry and pissed off because their team don’t put it together when it counts. All these years we have accepted that the team is still learning, well, now it HAS TO count-On the 125 anniversary of Arsenal Football Club.

Remember action speaks louder than words. Now can someone please tell this to our manager ?

Guns-out,

THE ARMOURY

  1. Well done and spot on. I’d even add in the goalless draws @ emirates vs Sunderland and Blackburn. Another 4 points dropped points against teams we should be beating(or at least scoring on) at home.

It is a difficult time for Arsenal, and I am more than a bit fearful of what might be in the future. And even though my heart breaks every time we lose, the idea of supporting another team is unthinkable. As Nick Hornby once famously put it; “…loyalty, at least in footballing terms, is not a moral choice like bravery or kindness. It’s more like a wart or a hump, something that you are stuck with.”

Look on the brighter side of things. One of my good friends is a West Ham supporter. I had the pleasure recently to remind him of a conversation we had last august where he predicted the Hammers to finish above Arsenal!

So you see, Arsenal are good for somethings 🙂

  2. He raiseed the expectations, couldnt live it up.
    Quadruple? He managed it
    Mental Strength? Of course
The fact that he made himself unsackable says everything you need to know about him and the club. A delusional old man surrounded by yes-man. Even if he wins a trophy next year it will be hard to celebrate, because of all the trophies we lost and his beahaviour in the last few years and now. And the interviewers in the pre match conferences are a fucking joke too.
