Wenger needs a reality check…

Wenger needs a reality check. And boy does he need it fast. I have had sometime to go through the incidents of the game held in West London on the 2nd, and to be fair I am disappointed. Arsenal SHOULD have killed the game off in the first half, but as we all know the team does not like killing because that involves picking up 3 points with 45 mins to go..
I don’t know what to make of Theo Walcott because to be neutral I do not think he fits in at Arsenal. Yes, this is more criticism directed at the Englishman, but this time he deserves it. He was atrocious that day, and it makes me wonder why Wenger allows Theo to continue this way. If you think about it Walcott is a regular starter at Arsenal, and having a player like him as a starter shows you how depleted the clubs ambitions are. Walcott is quick, but what good does it do if he cannot use his brain on a football field. Against QPR he was through 1 on 1 with the keeper only to send his scuffed toothless shot right of the post AFTER eyeing up the goal. Chamberlain will give him good competition but lets face it the boy will not replace Theo this season. That Wenger will make sure of. He likes getting player ready before putting them on the pitch. Theo was probably an experiment which has turned out very badly. Not only is he inconsistent but also dull when it comes to certain situations on the pitch. Surprisingly he is ‘gifted’ the same situations game after game and even then he fails to capitalise. When he does we feel he will improve but lets be real, we have been feeling that for quite some time now.
Another man in this Arsenal team which makes me twitch is Djourou. A walking talking disaster. The game against Fulham should provide enough evidence to back me up. First off, he is a centre back, and yet we find him playing as right back. A position he CAN play but NOT according to the needs of the team. What is the role of the RB ? Defending and making forwards runs. Djourou does neither to the level we expect from him. And he has been at Arsenal for 8 years now. Who will buy him if he is transfer listed ? Probably some League 2 side desperate to find a cover for their injured centre back.
The window is open now and if Wenger wants spot no 4 in the league table he has to sign a player. Sagna should be back so I am not concerned that much about Djourou right now, but regarding Theo the manager has to find a player who can replace him. You may think that this will hinder Chamberlains growth, well ask yourself this. What growth will Chamberlain have if he competes with a brainless baboon who can only run fast ?
Realistically, if we plan to sell Theo how much do you think we can get from him. More importantly, who will buy him ? Wenger will not even sell to any of our rivals, so that leaves clubs from 9th to 20. Maybe Blackburn Rovers, because of the new Indian owners. Anything over 10 quid will be a profit for us.
Many people say that Theo is still improving and that he just needs to get certain parts of his game right. But how much time should one take to improve certain aspects of his game ? He has been at Arsenal for 5 years, and do we ever hear different criticism regarding his performance.
Why is he even an Arsenal player ?
Wenger needs a reality check and he needs it FAST.

theo swap with hazard ?

What a load of tosh. Our wingers are a different prospect with our full-backs. Simple. Djourou is not a full-back-he is a fourth placed 21 year old centre back with competition from Miquel. YOU need a reality check.

And so do you if you think Theo and DJ are Arsenal material. Their performances are average or below average most of the time so i don’t see what prospect you see in them.

Djourou was good before the sending off. Didn’t do much wrong. Was a bit silly to raise his arm, but was also very unlucky to be sent off. I saw exactly the same thing happen to Donovan yday and the commentators dismissed the penalty claim as unrealistic.
Theo is a bit of a strange one. He’s not a typical arsenal wide-man, but you can’t argue with his stats. His problem is that he is either very good or very poor, but either way we tend to play better when he and gervinho are in the side because they force the opposition defence back and give us more space. Tactically he is a very useful player, if still very flawed himself.

For calling Walcott a baboon, I do not think you are wise, Walcott is far far more handsome than yourself, Walcott is a fine player, especially with his assists, so stop criticizing him that way.

I can’t digest seeing Dijourou in Arsenal Shirt .Countless games we lost because of him.So many times others also committed errors which were originally aroused from the panic situations created by his inability to catch up with the opponent.Thank god he is at RB,Otherwise he is 12th man for the opponent .In one way this is the real problem at Arsenal.AW trying to prove himself right by insisting on Dijourous ,Diabys,Songs etc Where they are actually very poor ,below average, and average players only.Jack is only a lottery.

You are absolutely spot on about theo although i do not consent to the insults. Any good football analyst will know that theo relies only on speed and gives nothing more. He does not even knoe how to space himself to receive the ball. Simply put theo has no football brain.

…’a brainless baboon’…wrong choice of words on Theo. I am a red devil but on that am on Theo’s side.

Do me a favour mate, take Theo and give us Nani/Valencia, maybe then it should be allright. You will still be on Theo’s side, and I can have my way too.

“Wenger will not even sell to any of our rivals” – half of city’s squad is made up of former arsenal players! He doesn’t tend to stand in the way of players when the want to leave; he might try to convince them to stay, but does give up if it’s clear that’s what they want.

Do you think City are so stupid that they would buy Walcott and Dj when they have the likes of Nasri, Milner, Johnson, Kompany, Clichy, Richards. That would really be stupid of them but I would be happy.

The best thing for both Walcott and Djourou will be the return of Sagna. It will take pressure off of Walcott to maintain the width of the attack and reduce the defensive work he has had to do. Djourou will be able to go back to backing up the backup to the backup halfback.
Sagna has stated kicking the ball, he is maybe a month out.

Also, on Djourou – don’t forget he is our 3rd or 4th choice RB, depending on whether we can afford to play Koscielny there, and currently our 4th choice CB. He’s miles ahead of most 4th choices in either position, and showed last year particularly that he is capable of being a very good defender – I don’t even know who City’s, Chelsea’s or Utd’s 4th choice RBs are, and he’s not really any worse than Lescott, Evans and Luiz (certainly better than Luiz!), who are probably more like 3rd choice CBs.
