Wenger is NOT an idiot….he wrote back !
I am very sorry Gooners for not posting a lot, but by next week normal service should resume here at the armoury. Anyway so that you know the armoury turned 1 today, and as blog administrator I must thank you guys for making this blog so special.
Allright, so where are we. Ahh yes…..on the brink of entering into July. And in July as you know, begin the pre-season friendlies. Transfers shall get complete and the missing pieces in an Arsenal puzzle shall start falling into place. Firstly let me give a quick update. Chris Samba as most of you know may sign with us. There have been some issues with his contract and this is usually foreseen because Arsenal are dealing with him. You know Arsenal, we stall and wait, and wait, and wait…..
July usually begins with a bang in the transfer market, and I expect this fully next week.
Yes, I do expect a few new names to be in Arsenal before our practice games start and in all probability this should happen. It SHOULD, nobody is saying IT WILL…
Turning to other news, as most of you have read, Monsieur has replied to a fellow Gooners letter. Well incase you have no idea of the story let me make this short. Our manager replied to one of the ‘many’ letters posted in the internet titled
‘ A Letter to Arsene Wenger….’
Now as for his reply, if you bother to read ‘his reply’, it is the same thing he has always been telling us. If you don’t believe me check it out for yourself. Google was made for a reason you know…
ARSENE WENGER IS NOT AN IDIOT. Yes, some of bis actions in the past regarding finances and tactics have shown clear signs of being one, BUT HE IS NOT AN IDIOT. He knows what he us facing now and what he is supposed to do. He had no clue what to do on the last day of the season and this I can assure you because of his body language in an interview on the last day of the season (shrugging of shoulders). Although I must say he handled that reporter quite well..
As Gooners I know we are all worried because we always want Wenger to sign an entire defense and keep hold of Cesc. And we are all anxious to know what will Arsenal do next season. but right now we can’t bitch about him as it will not help us in anyway.
I know very well how we Gooners feel, trust me I do. I even met a fellow Gooner who feels the same. We all want the best for our club. Trust me when I tell you this. This summer is going to be long, but somehow we are going to enjoy it…
See you next week..
Cheers,
DKD

Arsenal Transfers and AST….
I AM GOING TO KEEP THESE POST SHORT SO THAT I DON’T WASTE ALOT OF YOUR TIME. AT THE SAME TIME I SHALL TRY AND KEEP THEM AS INFORMATIVE AS POSSIBLE SO AS TO AGAIN NOT WASTE ALOT OF YOUR TIME. NOW HAVING ALREADY WASTED SOME OF YOUR TIME LETS GET DOWN TO BUSINESS…
%20(3).jpg)
As you must already know the AST fired a lot of questions at Ivan a few days back. Personally, I am in full support of the AST and to me they are a group which can voice the opinion of the common Gooner.
That being said, not matter what question they shot at Ivan, it did not make him sweat. (This is of course is not their fault) Ivan of course replied to each one of them accurately and to the best of his ability. Now I fully understand why he could not answer on certain issues of the club, and the point he stated was in fact quite logical. Nobody wants unnecessary attention, and especially Arsenal. So if Ivan did reply to a tricky one that answer would probably be all over the UK right now, each newspaper having its own version of it.
It’s just like saying “I have a cat in my house”…but what the media does is that they portray it as if you said “I have fucking sabertooth in my house.”
TRANSFERS
Arsenal have made some strides in terms of transfers and we have most likely signed Gervinho from Lille. I think the fee is about 12 million but in a few days we shall find out whether this report is true or not.
Personally, I think Gervinho is a good signing. However I hope it does not stop here and Monsieur continues to enhance our fucked up defense.
We have also bid or Samba. This I am 87.23 % confident of but will Blackburn accept is something I cannot comment on. They have just lot Jones to united and may just add a few million quid to Samba’s transfer fee.
As for Eden Hazard, I must admit I have no clue what is going on with him.
Will keep you updated if I hear anything…
Cheers,
DKD
Arsenal New kit : 2011-2012..Will this make a difference
This is Arsenal’s home kit for the upcoming season, and in my opinion it looks quite good.
Features of the shirt :
The Arsenal home shirt for the 2011-12 season features a new bespoke crest that marks the club’s 125th anniversary year – and looks forward to the club’s next chapter as the most environmentally-friendly kitNike has ever produced.
Founded in Woolwich in 1886 and called The Royal Arsenal, the celebratory crest design combines the graphic of the first club crest with the current version in a bold white print and carries the anniversary dates of 1886 and 2011 on the heart of the shirt.
Underneath the celebratory crest sits the word ‘FORWARD’ as a tribute to the club’s first motto.
While the history and tradition of the club is present in the shirt design, the new home kit is made fromNike’s ground-breaking recycled polyester – which for the first time includes both the shirt and shorts.
Each complete kit is made up of up to thirteen reclaimed plastic water bottles. This new manufacturing process reduces energy consumption by up to 30% compared to manufacturing traditional polyester and saves nearly 100 million plastic water bottles from being dumped at landfill sites.
The classic design is inspired by the 1970’s strips and boasts a clean, refined look with a block red body and white sleeves with red speed stripe detail. The shorts are white with a red speed stripe and the white socks carry the club’s founding year 1886 on the back of the fabric.
On the back of the shirt below the neck reads ‘’Arsenal’, while inside the front, on the back of the crest, is a graphic that reads ‘Victoria Concordia Crescit’, (‘Victory Through Harmony’), Arsenal’s Latin motto, which was previously featured on earlier versions of their club crest between 1949 and 2002.
The light weight kits (13% lighter than previous versions) actively regulate the players’ body temperatures on the pitch to keep them dry and cool at all times through use ofNikeDri-FIT technology. This technology draws sweat away from the player’s body through the material where it can evaporate.
Temperature regulation is helped by ventilation zones, consisting of hundreds of tiny laser cut holes from the under arms to the waistband, allowing air to circulate to keep players dry, cool and comfortable.
For the first time the club crest on the front of the shirt is heat transferred, making it even lighter and crucially allowing this area to now be ventilated as well.
The shirt has a new aerodynamic fit this season, now slimmer and more athletic, providing 17% more stretch than the Arsenal shirt of two years ago. While a bonded hem offers a streamlined look that reduces irritation caused by chafing.

Either way Sami is the beacon and the one who is right…

Well today I arrived at Paris. Pretty down because I left Arsenal, but life does not pan out the way you want does it ?
Now as most of you Gooners already know Sami has come out with some comments on Twitter in which the player has clearly requested us not to believe what the papers say. Now to some this may seem as a relief but to me, I really don’t see the change his comments have made. What he has a said we are all or we should all be aware of. We should know that newspapers run numerous faulty stories, some touching the borders of sheer insanity just to get readers. So its obvious that we must not believe them.
Our transfer season has not been going the way we want has it. I know its the beginning but right now as we witness other top clubs sign players we are the ones who feel left behind. Jones and Young to United, and Henderson to Liverpool (for outrageous sums mind you ! ) Wonder what Chelsea are going to do…
But coming to matters that concern us, lets talk about one of Arsenal players last season. Samir Nasri.
Here is why I feel Nasri is not signing a new contract with the club:
Nasri in my opinion is the one who is taking stand and calling the cards. He knows he is a crucial member of Arsenal Football Club. And he knows that when he puts it down to paper he is tied to the club and has to zip it. Right now, he is playing the sensible guys role. The dual character at this moment. He will not mind the money, and at the same time he wants the club to show some fucking intent in the transfer market. As players of a club of this stature everyone wants to win, and win trophies. They want to be successful, and to do that you need quality. Ever wondered why Spurs don’t win any trophies ? Sam wants the club to sign some players who have quality and can lead the club to success. Once the club shows intent I am sure he is going to sign a new contract.
Personally I fee that Sam ‘cares for the club’ otherwise it’s obvious that he would choose any other club as they are most likely reach to meet his wage demands.
Sami, is the lone beacon for us Gooners amidst all this transfer speculations.
OTHER TRANSFER NEWS :
Now as I hear from a few reports we have apparently managed to sign Gervinho and Alex C. Hmmm…although quite interesting I have no idea whether these reports are true or not. All I know is if its an Arsenal transfer there has to be some french connection, so as it stands I think there is more truth in the former than the latter.
Cheers,
DKD
PS : Sorry I couldn’t edit this post, I wrote it on a train !
The beauty of Arsenal Football Club…
A Story which happened a long time ago…you know when we were small !!!
It was probably 11:30 at night, if I recall correctly. I was reading ‘Prisoner of birth’ by Jeffrey Archer. My brother was on the bed adjacent to me. Lying down and staring at the corner of the bed as if it was some sort of ‘gold mine’ he had discovered. It was probably 11:35 when the incident took place…
My mom came into the room to tell us good-night. She did this everyday, and this was ofcourse another of her routine’s visit. As she entered the room, she saw my brother and her first reaction was ‘Is everything allright.” Couldn’t really blame her though. The look on my brother’s face said it all…
“Whats the matter”, “Nothing Mom.” This was followed by the usual line of questions such as why do you look so pale, is something wrong, how are your studies going, any problem at college. but to all of them there was one common answer – “Nothing.”
I peered over the top of thh book to have a look at them both. Mom was really worried about the bloke. She gave it a final shot, “Come on, I am your mother, you can tell me anything, is it a girl problem. And if not then what is it that is making my son look so gloomy???”
My brother looked at up her, eyes swollen with water “Arsenal lost…”
2 seconds later, she got up and stormed out of the room, slamming the door-shut in the process.
A subtle smile came over my face, a I peered over to look at my brother. But the look had not changed, why would it, Arsenal lost…

Armoury Update 1….
Sorry Gooners regarding the regularity in my posts but as you know I am in London and therefore have no chance to catch up. Today I finally got a chance as I stole (borrowed) my brothers iPad. So, let’s start….
In Arsenal news, there are a few things that require mentioning. Samir Nasri has a 30 % chance of signing a new contract at Arsenal. He has a made a few comments regarding his Arsenal and the way it’s looking right now it seems he has an attention problem. He has made in my opinion some really stupid comments about the speculation surrounding him and Manchester United, when he could have easily ended any speculation. I don’t know what he is going to do but right now I don’t think he is going to sign a new contract with us. Put him on sale, if he won’t accept the clubs terms. Remember, no ones bigger than the club.
In other news Nikko is 100% leaving Arsenal as he hopes he shall be signed by Barcelona, Barcelona B that is…
It’s pretty damn cold here in London. And even with 3 layers of cloths I have a frozen ass at the end of the day. I visited the Emirates 2 days ago and I must say it was pretty cool. Did you know the captain of Arsenal decides the length of sleeves for each player at the club ?
Today I met a man at Oxford street in Selfridges. Ohh how I wish I had guys like this by me while watching games. For me he was the perfect gooner, and hopefully I shall get to catch a drink with him sometime in the future. He had been through the Highbury years and currently is a silver member at the club. If you ever go to London meet Scott Lewis at Oxford street, a true fucking gooner. You will not get many like them anymore ! He seriously had a lot of views on the affairs of the club, and it was interesting to hear the opinions of a man who grew up next to the Arsenal !
As I have said before the summer is going to be long. Personally it’s not got off to a great start but who knows something may happen tomorrow. I mean all we have is hope and ofcourse Wenger. ( even I smiled after I wrote this )

Arsenal (Barcelona)/ The Champions League play-offs…
Hello Gooners,
There is nothing much to blog about these days since the seasons got over. I know there has been a lot of speculation about transfers, but if I start with those it should take me months to finish. I saw the UCL final with my mates in my house. Personally I hate United so I was rooting for Barca. But it only lasted for 90 mins. Anyway they deserved to win so we can’t blame them.
The media(and by that I mean newspaper reports and blogs) sometimes goes beserk on some issues. This time unfortunately (and yet again) after the 28th it was again us and Barcelona. I mean why ? Why does everyone start comparing us with Barcelona ?
I really don’t understand what the problem with football fans is these days. Barcelona teach Arsenal, Barcelona the “Spanish Arsenal’, I mean give it a break. It’s already bad enough that we have to bare all the shit that club has thrown at us, despite our courteous and respectful behaviour. And now even this…
Yes, Barcelona is a brilliant footballing team which fans around the world look at in awe. They play superb football and are a class apart from their rivals in Spain. They have very gifted players and primarily are a fan-based club. But that does not mean every time they maul an English side, they have to be start comparing with us. They are different and so are we. It’s true that both of us play a brand of football that is exquisite and lovely to the eye. BUT yet we are very different teams, with respect to the way we are run.
Barcelona and Arsenal play the same brand of football.
Bull-shit.
Yes, you heard me say it. BULL-SHIT. We do not play the same brand of football as Barcelona play. Football is a pass and move game. Although it is true that we play a similar game it is not at all the same. If it was the same then we would have won the league. Arsenal plays football which is more of the conservative type. We pass the ball, preferably play long and flat and fast. Our short passes last for may be 5-6 before we have to take the initiative. Barcelona on the other hand don’t choose to play the long balls type. They prefer the slow build up and direct approach of passing around in triangles. Before they take the initiative they probably complete atleast 12-14 passes. They have a top class midfield and the only way to make them NOT play is to stop their midfield. Easier said than done isn’t it. Arsenal does show the Barcelona brand of football on certain occasions but it’s not always the case.
Bottom Line: We do not play the same football as Barca.
Now…
Q. Can you really blame us?
A. No.
I have said that we do not play the same brand of football as Barcelona. Similar and same are two different things, and to understand this motion of whether Barca and Arsenal play the same it is very important. But I would further go on to say that people should not blame or start comparing us to the brand of football Barcelona play. The main reason for this being that we play in different leagues and the premier league is a league which is played at a much faster pace than the La Liga. There is more pressure and the teams are of a higher standard than the teams in La Liga, with no dis-respect to them at all. If FC Barcelona played a team like Stoke, I would not say they would draw or lose, but to be honest it would be difficult for them to have the match they want.
Now I really don’t want to get further into such an argument because I find it STUPID and Irrelevant. Honestly, I have better things to write about than a Spanish team.

Next year’s champion’s league as we all know will be held in the Allianz Arena, Munich. That stadium is a marvellous stadium, and you can probably spend an entire day at Munich looking at it.
BUT as you know we are officially not in the champion’s league. So who are the teams we can face. Firstly, let me clarify that we MOST LIKELY WILL NOT FACE Bayern MUNICH. They possess an UEFA coefficient higher than us and thus they shall be seeded probably with us against other teams. It basically goes like this. The teams with the highest UEFA coefficient are seeded together and they shall face the teams with the lowest UEFA coefficients. Arsenal and Bayern should probably go together and thus we may not draw them.
However the teams which we may draw, (‘MAY’) are one of the bottom 5 – Dynamo Kyiv, Udinese, Panathinaikos, Standard Liege and Twente.
The remaining teams along with us are Villarreal, Lyon, Benfica and of course the hosts, Bayern Munich.
I shall keep you updated as we get more news about the seeding procedure, but as for now it should go like this.
Alright Gooners, my last piece of ‘blogging.’ I am going to London this week so I most probably will not be updating the blog every 3-4 days. Although if I hear anything I will post it !
My summer starts now…
